My daughter..

Just wanted to let the world know that my first born, Myar Jane Arnold, arrived this snowy morning in Worcester. She was 9 lbs 13 oz .. she is beautiful!

Also the geek in me went out immediately and registered www.myararnold.com and secured her email address at google.. Twitter?? of course..

Why? Personal brand! Myar has just entered the world and its her future..

Why Myar? Myar is an anagram of Mary. Both Becky and myself had grandma's called Mary. Beckys nanna passed in June just after Becky told me that she was expecting. My Nan passed a few months later. We believe it's a fitting way to pay tribute to our mothers mothers.. However, neither of us wanted to call our first daughter Mary. So it had to be an anagram.

Why not Myra?? I don't think its fair to call our daughter after one of the Moors Murderers.Why not Mayr? or Ryam? or Raym? In all honesty, only Myra and Mary was found at behindthename.com , and Mya was close. Mya is a variant of Mia , and we just added an R to the end. In fact,  we will still pronounce it My-uh

Anyway, keep your eyes and ears out for more of what Myar is getting up to..

Chris’s 27th Birthday

I know Chris through Kate. She worked with him, when he was a Boat Mechanic in Southampton. A sound guy who is travelling with Sam, his Portsmouth Girlfriend..

On Thursday Chris celebrated his 27th Birthday..and in style, we tried to stay out till dawn. This is no easy task in Queenstown, as its quite an expensive night out! So we started the night at there house drinking cheap stubbies for a little while!!

Once we had sung Happy Birthday, and eaten cake, we all headed to Buffaloes in town.. Great Travellers bar, a little hectic but where Chris spends a small proportion of his wages!! After here Triple M, great for cheap bar if litle else!! This place closed at 1 so we headed to Chicos fo some party atmosphere.

<<< By now everyone was a little drunk...

But when this place closed at 3ish, we were left without anywhere to go. except Tardis. I haven't been to this place since I got here, but it does have a reputation of being a hip joint fo all the snowboarders in town..

I don't know why.. Its really dark, and this place pretty much killed the night.. putting an end to our dream of drinking till dawn!!

Good job really.. the next day  had the worst hangover!!

Janines 25th Birthday

As its the last week of living in the house, I have been going out Snowboarding a lot this week.. its also been Janines Birthday!!

Yep the lady has reached a quarter of a century old!! So we went up to Remarks yesterday for a lovely day of bluebird riding.. There is a new kicker in the top park so I was riding that mostly. Apparently I am like a preying mantis when I am in the air!!

Out last night for a meal and drinks.. a good night had by all, with food at Dux de Lux , then drinks at Dux and later Triple M.. I got wasted!!

So Friday bought Kate and Mike a VIP day up Remarks, which includes tubing and a free lesson. Mike didn't need the lesson, so I had it.. Friday also bought a bad hangover..

So me and Kate had a halfpipe lesson in the Superpipe! Charlie a French-Canadian took it and we learnt how to ride the pipe properly and also 360 spins as well! didn't mean I could do them, but now I know!!

Kates 26th Birthday

Sunday 17th July - and good mate Kate (pictured on left, looking drunk) celebrates her 26th Birthday..

its decided that Kate wants to have a Bad Taste night for the bash at our house, so its up to everyone to sort out those terrible outfits for the night.. I pop down to the Salvation Army on Saturday to get a real bad shirt, but its closed!! so wander around town for a nose in the shops to see if anything catches my eye. The ALL BLACKS shop has been selling a lot of the Lions Rugby stuff off at cheap prices recently, so this may prove fruitfil. Sure enough, a $100 Hawaiaan Lions shirt has been reduced to $10 (4 quid!!).. so its gonna have to be that!!

Anyway 8:30pm and me and Mike are the only ones at home wondering if anyone is gonna show up, including Birthday girl. Kate shows up and is impressed with Mikes skills at sorting the house at.. and proceeds to open all her pressys!! I will let Kate tell you what she got, but I gave her Dodgeball on DVD.. 9:30pm and people start showing up!! Chris and Sam are looking top in some dodgy suit and a rescue Jumpsuit.. but I thinks it Kate who steals the award, with some red leggings she used to wear clubbin about 8 years ago, a polka dot top and a stripey dressing gown!!

About 30 people show up and luckily all congregate in our kitchen to drink booze. Party goes really great, and its fun to watch Mike and Kate get more and more drunk through the evening. Mike shoots to bed at 1, with Kate following about 1:45 ..  all in all a great nite

25 May 2005 ;-)

So its finally arrived.. 25 May 2005 - My 30th Birthday...

I don't feel any older.. I don't look any older.. To be honest I don't feel any different! However I know I'm older, and the worst thing is that my twenties are finally over. oh, how I loved my twenties!! come back pleeeeeease..

I think I really should stop whining, after all I am in Queenstown,NZ on the first stage of my round the world tour..

So whats happened today? Well we have moved into our new house (full photos on flickr) the address is [UPDATE - REMOVED]

Later we are having a house warming party and then head down to Queenstown to celebrate my Birthday in true Arnold Style!! (as us Arnolds seem to do so well!!)

So what different things do I plan to change now that I am 30?
1. No More Smoking! - I have given up now since the day I got on my flights over here.. A couple of days I have really wanted a ciggarette but I have kept up to it!!
2. Get Fit & Stay Fit - With a season ahead of me, I should lose this belly of mine, but I also need to get fit & stay fit.. sit ups.. press ups.. swimming..
3. Manage my cash - Those of you who know me well, know that I am terrible with my dollars.. from now on I will manage it so much better!!
4. Keep a life journal - While I am away I am keeping a journal of my travels as well as this blog... I intend to keep this going..

There you go.. If anyone can think of anything else I should be doing now I am 30 .. drop me a line and let me know!!

Anyway off to the Warehouse to buy a bed for me to sleep in tonight!! Speak soon..

My 30th Birthday Party

so after me and zenas trip to Barcelona last week, we were back in Southampton for my final weekend before I go..

so i decided to have a party.. My 30th Birthday Party / Leaving do

Anyway Saturday morning I woke up with a fair chance of rain, no BBQ food, no Bouncy Castle.. I was thinking that it was gonna have to be a party down the pub.. 12:00 and its raining.. 12:30 still pissing down.. 13:00 Bouncy Castle bloke phones to see if we still want it, can't say just yet... 14:30 and its stopped raining and its now brightening up..

so off i go to Aldi to buy some BBQ food, and a bit later the Bouncy Castle is put up in Zenas back garden!

I phone Sherm and Johnie to see if they can provide some music, and Elouise provides a stereo (the one in the house mysteriously disapeared during the previous week..) and then me, zee and elouise put up the decorations.

Its all set to go!

4 o'clock and no-ones turned up, and then my buddie Chris turns up just after and gets me a folklore t-shirt from his new clothing company.. Wicked!! cheers Chris!! then Ally, Ed 'n' Paul from my uni course turn up.. then bit by bit the rest all show up!! Peggy, OJ & Mumrah.. Sy & Chrystal.. Sherm, Gesus (with new canadian- Australian accent) Matt, Si & Lucy, Little Ben, Emma & Mikee (later).. Lanners, Jimmy & Aimee.. Rich.. Jayme & Don.. Johnie & Elouise.. Kelly & Steve.. Joe, Kieran, Paul & Tim.. Dee & Her fellla..  All those who I missed, apologies for not getting you on the list!!!

I would like to say a big thanks to everybody for all the cards and pressies that turned up.. if you didn't get me a pressie, then just you showing up was great news and ensured I had a massive smile on my face all nite!!!

Anyway the BBQ and the Bouncy Castle went down a treat.. and Sherms cooking on the BBQ filled a few bellies!! mine included (not that it needs fillling in anymore!)

9 o'clock and the obligatory "Happy Birthday" and cries of speech are called out, so up to my plinth on the Castle and after a pants speech, where I forgot to mention loads of things... I have the chance to burst open the Pinyana that Si and the guys / gals from Yellowsnow have bought around.. I am given a rubber baseball bat, which fails to do a thing, so the mop comes out,and its burst everywhere!! woooooohooo!!

So a load of us go to the Cricketers, and after loads of free drinks off mates,  I head back to the party at midnight (ish) ..

Stragglers and drunkards (Jimmy and Lanners and peggy) all show up during the rest of the night and the party finally ends about 4ish..

wake up Sunday at 9!! and tidy the house and have a go on the Bouncy Castle ... again

GREAT NITE had by all...

p.s. those of you who made it.. thanks for coming around!! Those of you who couldn't make it, and let me know i will speak to you soon!! Those who don't bother reading there emails , get a grip!!

30th Birthday Update..

Well after sending a bulk email last week to all my southampton buddies I had the amazing return of ... 4 replies .. Thanks Matt, Sherm & Abi.. I know that Sy, Lanners and Jimmy are coming down as well.

I also got an email off Jasper .. Hes in LA working on the set of ER as a runner.. he said he would pick me up from the Airport when we get to the States!! sweet .. cheers jas

Anyway I did say thet the party starts at about 12.. but i doubt we will be ready by then. So if you are coming come over after 3ish.. we should be set up by then!

My 30th Birthday Party & Leaving do…

On Saturday 14th May I am having a party to celebrate my 30th Birthday.. I cant really have it on the 25th as I will be in New Zealand!

This is an opportunity for all my pals I have met over the years to come together in Southampton and get lashed...

What better opportunity than Jez's 30th !!

It will start about 12noon and carry on to the early hours.. Ive already booked a Bouncy Castle and I have been promised Blue Skys all day long.. We are gonna have a BBQ .. However I would ask you to bring ya own booze please!!!

Bring sleeping bags if ya wanna kip on the floor after.. but Zee is looking into local B+Bs to see how much they are.. if ya want your own space..
